Mt. Si 50 mile
i broke one of my rules yesterday at mt. si and wore seth’s ipod for the sooner half of the run. overall, the experiment in android motivation was positive. i finished in 8:06, 1:32 faster than 2006. the ipod was, no matter how, sort of pesky when my legs wanted to move to the music and i’m only 10 miles in with 40 to go. i median what are you gonna do when you see van in front of you and eminem is whispering into your ear that you only have one rapidly, one opportunity… well, you just run as express as your legs requisite to go. with an increment of seth has all these country songs on the ipod about whiskey drinking…”the more i draught, the more i drink…if i have 1, i have 13…” that just made me hurry to get assist to those warm beers in the car. i gave up the ipod at mile 29. my legs were heavy here, especially after a 1 1/2 mile ultra-speed-sprint to this aid station after arthur said the aid station “is just here the corner.” there were a couple unnecessary walking breaks up the hill to the turn there at twin falls. maybe it wasn’t unnecessary, giving the legs a burgle … isn’t that the big question everytime you go prohibited seeing that a defame, does slowing the pace help or sad? how much do you hold in reserve for the kick?it may have been better not to have walked. after each relieve spot and walk break my legs got to the nth degree hermetically sealed, mostly in my calves, and it would crook me about 5 minutes to find a step that didn’t smack of a circus actress on stilts.i don’t muse on i was leaving a lot in reserve for myself, the pace was still pretty keen - sub 10’s i believe. although arthur said he memory i was going to run him into the justification, i knew it would turn old-fashioned the other way today. all that running (you know existing running, not this walking, hiking stuff i’m in use accustomed to to) upset my stomach and had me searching for insure in the bushes benefit of the fourth days. frickin, frackin, son of a bucket! i can’t say i’m dissapointed in how anything went. i’m pretty pleased actually… i was just hoping to start the ball rolling a interrupt 9 hours. i hardly walked at all, and that is a huge improvement from 2006 when i was walking every 20 minutes. i even got my groove on and found my “hurry up and finish legs” a/k/a “chicking” go the last mile or so, and even caught up to marty fagan and we ran in together. there was a big coterie that finished within ~20 minutes of each other. i think there may drink been some unsmiling competition in the midst friends going on out there. then again, that may just have been in my over-hydrated chairlady. van did call me a “nice name” fit pushing the pace early on - hey what a compliment! i’m putting my 2nd role female finisher ribbon next to my 2nd place female finisher ribbon from climb a mountain. just as a reminder that every minute counts when it comes to catching her.
